Sixers C Hawes to sit out again

Philadelphia 76ers center Spencer Hawes will miss his sixth consecutive game with a strained left Achilles.

The injury will keep Hawes sidelined for Friday’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats.

The 7-foot Hawes has not played since a win over Milwaukee on Jan. 16. The Sixers are 2-3 in his absence.

Hawes is averaging 10.4 points and 8.8 rebounds this season.Backup center Nikola Vucevic will also sit out Friday’s game for the Sixers, who signed center Francisco Elton on Friday.
