Source: Davis Heads to Team USA Camp
New Orleans Hornets No. 1 pick Anthony Davis will report to Team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas on Wednesday after spraining his ankle last week, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.
After sustaining an ankle injury in a Hornets workout on Saturday, the expectation was that Davis would miss too much of the USA Basketball’s training camp and likely would bow out of competition to make the final roster for the Olympic team. Nevertheless, the ankle injury didn’t turn out to be as serious as originally feared. After Lamar Odom, another frontcourt player, decided not to attend camp, it was decided Davis could take the time needed to heal the ankle and return to practice.
