Sources: Turiaf Likely Heading to Wizards

The Knicks are in the final stages of sending Ronny Turiaf’s $4.2 million contract to Washington and could be completed tonight, according to sources.

That would complete the Tyson Chandler bonanza as the Knicks would have enough room to move under the salary cap after waiving Chauncey Billups by the amnesty clause. The Turiaf trade was the holdup to the deal being official. It does not appear the Knicks would receive anything in return and will likely have to give the Wizards cash to pay for part of his pact. Though the Knicks could get back a trade exception.
