“He’s (Marreese Speights) been great,” said Grizzlies All-Star center Marc Gasol. “He’s finding his shot easier, he knows where to be. It’s a process and he’s getting through it. We saw that he has a lot of talent and that he can shoot it a lot. We need him to do more things sometimes. He knows that, because he’s capable of doing that. We don’t ask him to do something we don’t think he’s capable of. We ask him to do stuff we saw that we really think that he can do. He’s getting better and better every day and that’s what we need.”

Much like Speights needed to get out of Philadelphia.

“Everything has been great here,” Speights said. “They’ve welcomed me, the fans welcomed me and the coaches and players. I just go out there and play my basketball. I can’t be another [Zach Randolph]. He does what he does and I do what I do. It just gives me a chance to come out here and do what I do to help win games.”
