Spurs’ Parker Ready For Season Opener
Spurs point guard Tony Parker arrived at training camp this month fresh off a starring turn with the French national team at the EuroBasket tournament, and with three goals in mind.
“Make sure I stay in rhythm, make sure I stay in shape,” Parker said. “And be ready for Oct. 30 because that’s when it counts.”
Based on his 14-point third quarter in the Spurs’ 106-104 exhibition victory at Atlanta on Thursday, Parker seems well on his way to accomplishing those first two objectives. As a result, he says the Spurs’ regular-season opener Oct. 30 against Memphis cannot arrive soon enough.
