Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili combined for 61 points as host the San Antonio Spurs ran their winning streak to six and spoiled Kobe Bryant’s return to the lineup with a 121-97 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Duncan had 21 points and eight boards, and Parker and Ginobili scored 20 apiece as the Spurs routed the Lakers for the second time in four days to maintain their half-edge edge over Oklahoma City for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
Parker added 10 assists and had a double-double by the end of the third quarter, in which San Antonio shredded Los Angeles by shooting 72.2 percent to open a 91-73 lead. The Spurs shot 61 percent for the game.
Bryant, playing for the first time after missing seven games with a left shin injury, scored 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting. The loss sliced the Lakers’ lead atop the Pacific Division to a half-game over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Bryant’s jumper to open the second half pulled the Lakers within 56-54 before the Spurs took off. San Antonio hit 11 of its first 14 shots in the quarter and used an 11-0 burst to surge ahead 84-65 with 3:30 to go.
Andrew Bynum added 17 points for Los Angeles but managed only two rebounds nine days after grabbing a career-high 30 boards in a 98-84 win in San Antonio.
