Suns Leading Josh Smith Sweepstakes?

As first reported by HOOPSWORLD in early February (click here), the Phoenix Suns are pursuing Josh Smith and seem to be leading the sweepstakes to acquire the Atlanta Hawks forward.

The Suns would be sending Marcin Gortat, Jared Dudley and a first-round pick to the Hawks, as HOOPSWORLD reported.

Here’s what Gery Woelfel of The Journal Times had to say:

Suns, some NBA officials contend, are top cinders for Smith. Gortat, Dudley and 1st rounder being discussed.

Suns are not expected to participate in any major deals, sources said.
