Suns waive swingman Pietrus
The Phoenix Suns have waived swingman Mikael Pietrus after the sides reached a buyout on his contract.
Pietrus was due to make $5.3 million in the final year of his deal.
The Suns traded the 29-year-old to Toronto a few weeks ago for a conditional second-round pick, but the deal was voided when Pietrus’ right knee didn’t check out during the Raptors physical.
Pietrus will be free to sign with any team if he clears waivers.
He averaged 7.2 points while splitting time with Orlando and Phoenix last season.
