Surgery For Warriors’ David Lee

Posted By HOOPSWORLD On April 25, 2012 @ 8:42 pm In All,Headlines,NBA Headlines | No Comments

Golden State Warriors forward David Lee will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair a torn abdominal muscle, the team announced today.  The procedure will be performed by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia.  A timetable for Lee’s return to basketball activities will be determined following the surgery.

Due to consistent groin pain that he had been experiencing for several weeks, Lee underwent an MRI on April 13 that revealed a strained groin and a stress reaction.  Following the MRI, Lee was told by team doctors that he should not play until he is fully healed, or risk causing further substantial injury. He has missed the last seven games due to the injury.

While he will not be in attendance at tomorrow night’s season finale against the San Antonio Spurs, Lee has purchased 500 tickets to the game that will be distributed to deserving Bay Area youth groups.
