T-Wolves waive veteran Bonzi Wells
The Minnesota Timberwolves have waived veteran guard Bonzi Wells two days before the start of the NBA season.
Wells, who was attempting a comeback after leaving the NBA in 2008, has played in China and Puerto the past two years. The Timberwolves gave Wells a look in their two preseason games. He averaged 1.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 12.5 minutes.
With the maximum 15 players already under contract, Wells was a long shot to stay with the team. He’s played 591 career games in the NBA, averaging 12.1 points per game.
