Thabeet agrees to two-year deal with Thunder

Hasheem Thabeet, who has done little in the NBA since being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2009 draft, has a agreed to a two-year contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Daily Oklahoman reported Thursday.

The deal cannot officially be signed until July 11.

Financial terms of the deal were not revealed, but the contract will be fully guaranteed for both seasons. According to Oklahoman, the deal is believed to be for the league minimum salary, which would be approximately $880,000 in the first year of the contract.

The 7-foot-3 Thabeet will be playing for his fourth team in four seasons after being drafted by Memphis in 2009 out of Connecticut.

James Harden, Tyreke Evans, Stephen Curry, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Jennings and Ricky Rubio were among the players drafted after Thabeet in 2009.

In 135 NBA games, Thabeet has averaged 2.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.9 blocked shots.

He averaged 1.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 20 games last — five games for Houston and 15 for Portland.
