March Madness’ worst uniforms
by Rubie Edmondson, USA TODAY Sports
March is also home to some of the worst college basketball uniforms you will ever witness. Here are the five worst sartorial entries of this year’s tournament:
No. 5 Oregon
Even this head-to-toe shade of Ninja Turtle green can’t make a “Fighting Duck” sound intimidating.
No. 4 Marquette
The Golden Eagles up the ante on the all-yellow everything trend.
No. 3 Notre Dame
The Irish never got to wear their all-neon uniforms in the Big Dance, which disqualifies them from the No. 1 spot on our list. But these alternates still feel like they’re missing a radioactive warning symbol.
No. 2 Notre Dame (again)
Even though they missed the top spot, it doesn’t feel wrong to devote two places on our list to the Irish. These shoes are just egregious.
No. 1 Albany
Oh, where to begin? Let’s start with the obvious: They’re makin’ up words, here (“UALBANY”). We’d never actively root against a team, of course, but our retinas breathed a big sigh of relief at Albany’s early exit.
