Stop me if you’ve heard this before: the Nets and Nuggets are reportedly close to a deal that would send Carmelo Anthony to Newark in exchange for rookie Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy’s expiring contract and enough draft picks to fill an NFL roster. But while Melo’s arrival in the Garden state could be lucrative as the team prepares to move to Brooklyn, it may not make the most basketball sense.
