Thibodeau Rests Bulls Starters at All-Star?
Derrick Rose finished with 14 points and three assists in 18 minutes, sitting the entire second and fourth quarters and playing the least of the East starters.
“My back felt good, but I think Tom (Thibodeau) was just playing it safe and I didn’t want to play as much,” Rose said. “Of course at the end of the game I wanted to be in, but they were playing great.”
In his first All-Star appearance, (Luol) Deng played the final 5 minutes, 51 seconds of the first quarter and didn’t return, missing two jumpers and posting one assist. He tripped over (Kevin) Durant and landed on his left wrist, which has a torn ligament.
“It didn’t hurt,” Deng said. “For me to be selected meant a lot more to me than what I was going to show or do on the floor.”
