Thibodeau Wanted Bench to Close it Out?

(Tom) Thibodeau tried to ride reserves the entire fourth quarter. But when a 22-point lead dwindled to 13 with just under four minutes remaining, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah returned.

“When we kept losing the lead, I knew I was going back in,” Deng said, laughing. “So I stayed ready.”

Thibodeau even asked Derrick Rose to start stretching out his back but didn’t go back to him.

“If it got any closer, he was going in,” Thibodeau said. “He was in the bullpen warming up.”
