The Minnesota Timberwolves today signed Santa Cruz Warriors center Chris Johnson for the 16th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2012-13 NBA Development League season.  Johnson joins more than 110 players with NBA D-League experience currently on NBA rosters.

Johnson (6-11, 210, Louisiana State) has appeared in 14 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 10.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and 25.6 minutes.  He scored a season-high 24 points in a Dec. 23 win over the Springfield Armor and pulled down a season-high 11 rebounds in a Jan. 8 loss to the Austin Toros.

A 41-game NBA veteran, Johnson joins the Timberwolves with NBA career averages of 2.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 7.6 minutes during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, Boston Celtics and New Orleans Hornets.
