Lakers can seal playoff spot
by Adi Joseph, USA TODAY Sports
A quick look at the 11-game NBA schedule for Monday, April 15, grouping games by playoff stakes (all times p.m. Eastern):
If the Jazz lose, they are out and the Los Angeles Lakers go into the final two days of the regular season knowing they have the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference sewn up. The Jazz are 12-27 on the road and close the season with two must-win road games. They beat the Timberwolves 107-100 Friday at home.
The Warriors are tied with the Rockets for the West’s No. 6 seed but do not hold the tiebreaker. The Spurs need to close the season with two wins and have the Thunder lose twice to get the No. 1 seed in the West.
The Grizzlies are one game behind the Nuggets for the crucial No. 3 seed in the West, which would allow one team to avoid the Los Angeles Clippers (54-26) and have home-court advantage in the first round.
The Bulls trail the Atlanta Hawks by a game for the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Heat (No. 1), Knicks (No. 2) and Nets (No. 4) are locked in to their East playoff seeds.
There had to be one game between non-playoff teams, right?… [For more on Tonight's NBA schedule: Lakers can seal playoff spot, click here.]
