Tony Parker Was Playing ‘Not To Get Hurt’
Tony Parker certainly wasn’t happy with the outcome of Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night, a 109-93 Miami runaway that ensured the series would eventually make it back to South Florida.
Neither was the Spurs’ All-Star point guard satisfied with his performance in a second half that saw him produce zero points and miss all four of his field goals.
Parker could be happy with one thing leaving the AT&T Center after the blowout, however. At least his mildly strained right hamstring didn’t become something worse.
Otherwise, coach Gregg Popovich might have injured the rest of him.
“That was the goal, to try not to get hurt, because Pop was not really happy,” Parker said. “I wanted to play and took a little risk.”
