Teams To Jointly Donate All Proceeds To Benefit Victims¿0aOf Hurricane Katrina

MIAMI, FL – The Miami HEAT, the World Champion San¿0aAntonio Spurs, the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association today¿0aannounced their plans to stage an exhibition game between the Miami HEAT and the¿0aSan Antonio Spurs to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The game will be¿0aplayed in Miami at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Monday, October 10, 2005 at¿0a7:30PM, and will feature several up-close and personal experiences for fans.¿0aPrior to the game, players will greet fans at the door and following the¿0acontest, fans will have the opportunity to get some of their favorite player’s¿0aautographs. To generate the largest possible contribution, all tickets will be¿0asold at the 2005-06 regular season individual game ticket prices, with HEAT¿0aSeason Ticket Holders receiving the first opportunity to purchase tickets.

As the host team, the HEAT will donate all proceeds from¿0athe event to the efforts to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. All revenue¿0afrom ticket sales, concessions, parking and retail sales will be contributed. In¿0aaddition, selected service vendors providing the employees who would normally¿0awork at the AmericanAirlines Arena on a game night will donate their service fee¿0aand all AmericanAirlines Arena employees will donate their time to facilitate¿0athe game. The contribution will be made to the American Red Cross and a to be¿0adetermined charity on behalf of the HEAT, Spurs, the NBA and the NBPA.¿0aRepresentatives from both organizations will be on hand at the game to receive¿0athe contribution.

"For reasons that are close to home and knowing what¿0aour citizens have gone through, we as an organization will do just about¿0aanything to supply comfort, compassion, money and anything else we can to help¿0athe victims of Hurricane Katrina," said HEAT President Pat Riley. "The¿0aSpurs and the HEAT getting together to put on this exhibition to raise as much¿0amoney as we can for the victims is an indication of what both organizations and¿0athe NBA is all about."

HEAT Season Ticket Holders will have the opportunity to¿0apurchase their seat locations for the game starting Friday, September 9 though¿0aWednesday, September 14. Tickets can be purchased online via HEAT.com or in¿0aperson at the AmericanAirlines Arena Ticket Office during the hours of 10AM-5PM¿0aMonday through Friday. Following this exclusive purchase opportunity for HEAT¿0aSeason Ticket Holders, tickets will be made available to the general public on¿0aMonday, September 19 at 10AM via all Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com, the¿0aAmericanAirlines Arena Ticket Office, or by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX. Ticketmaster¿0ahas also agreed to waive all fees normally associated with the ticket purchase¿0atransaction.
