Trade Deadline Pushed into March?

The complete NBA schedule will be released Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET, but the specific date of the trade deadline will not be part of the announcement. Where the deadline falls on the annual NBA calendar is something that has to be negotiated by the owners and players into the new labor agreement.

The trade deadline usually falls on the first Thursday after the All-Star Game. If that formula holds in the new labor deal, it’ll be in March this season after a later-than-usual All-Star Weekend in Orlando from Feb. 24-26.
