Tyler Hansbrough’s nickname is “Psycho T.”

You won’t like him when he’s angry.

The Indiana Pacers forward nearly threw down with Cleveland Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson during Wednesday’s 96-81 home win. The reason? Thompson made the big mistake of messing with Hansbrough’s little brother.

Thompson was attempting to pull a rebound away from Tyler Hansbrough in the fourth quarter, and in doing so he swung an elbow into the head of bystander Ben Hansbrough, a seldom-used Pacers reserve.

“Psycho T” was unleashed, with Tyler Hansbrough immediately jumping into Thompson’s face. Thompson, whose Canadian background we mention here for no particular reason, kept his cool and did not retaliate, so the fight stopped when referees interjected.

Thompson was called for a flagrant foul, and Ben Hansbrough made one of two free throws.

But more importantly, the NBA learned a lesson: When a guy is known as “Psycho (Anything),” it’s probably best not to elbow his little brother in the head.
