Tyson Chandler Is Feeling ‘Way Better’
In his first two games back from a neck injury, Tyson Chandler had two rebounds and then four. On Friday night, he had 10 boards and afterward, he said he was pain-free.
“Way way better tonight,” said Chandler, who also had 6 points and 3 assists. “I didn’t have any pain in my neck. Now it’s just about getting my wind and my timing back.”
Chandler had a big steal in the first quarter, disrupting Monta Ellis’ dribble, which led to a Pablo Prigioni fast-break layup. Later in the third quarter, where the Knicks outscored the Bucks 42-21, Chandler tapped back a rebound that led to a Carmelo Anthony jumper.
“He couldn’t handle the ball, he was fumbling the ball,” Mike Woodson said. “I just think his timing is out of whack right now. But as the game went on, he just started to look like Tyson again. We gave him some serious minutes, too, so that should help a little bit. He might be a little sore tomorrow. We’re going to have to get him up to speed as we go down this road.”
