UCLA has dismissed forward Reeves Nelson from the men’s basketball team.

Reeves had been suspended was suspended indefinitely earlier this week – his second suspension this season.

Bruins coach Ben Howland said Nelson’s second suspension was for behavior that is “totally uncharacteristic of what we want from a UCLA basketball player representing this history and tradition.”

Nelson was the leading returning scorer and rebounder for UCLA after averaging 13.9 points and 9.1 rebounds last season.

The 6-foot-8 junior forward is averaging 5.7 points this season and was benched for the second half of Saturday’s game against Texas.
