UConn’s Calhoun – medical leave of absence
Connecticut men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun will take an indefinite medical leave of absence to deal with spinal stenosis, which causes pain and limits mobility.
Friday’s announcement marks the third time that the Hall of Fame coach has left the Huskies for medical reasons.
Associate head coach George Blaney will guide the team in Saturday’s game versus Big East foe Seton Hall and Monday’s tilt against Louisville.
Calhoun has guided the Huskies to three national championships.
