The two powerhouse, tradition-rich programs played for 12 consecutive seasons, but did not meet this year.

The schools agreed to a two-year, home-and-home series beginning in the 2013-14 season. The Tar Heels host the Wildcats first in Chapel Hill next season on Dec. 14 before traveling to Lexington the following season.
