Former UNLV guard Katin Reinhardt will be transferring to USC, according to a source close to the situation. Reinhardt was recently granted his release from UNLV, citing his desire to play point guard as the primary reason for transferring.
Reinhardt originally committed to USC in 2010, but de-committed last May before deciding to attend UNLV.
Reinhardt will have to sit out a year, per the NCAA’s transfer rules, but when he returns he will be tasked with running new head coach Andy Enfield’s up tempo offense that was so successful this past season at Florida Gulf Coast.
As a freshman Reinhardt played primarily off the ball, averaging 10.1 points, two rebounds and 2.5 assists in 29 minutes of action. He shot 35 percent from the field and the three-point line.
