Utah State men’s basketball student-athlete Danny Berger was released from Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah late Saturday morning.
Berger, a junior forward from Medford, Ore., had a serious medical situation during practice Tuesday afternoon and was tended to on the court by USU Assistant Athletic Trainer Mike Williams. CPR was performed and the AED (automated external defibrillator) was used on him until ambulance personnel arrived.
Berger’s condition was upgraded Thursday from critical to fair, and he was moved out of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and into CVU (Cardiovascular Unit).
Berger was expected to be in attendance for Utah State’s Saturday night game against Western Oregon, along with members of his family.
The school also announced that its game against BYU, which had been postponed after Berger’s medical event, has been rescheduled for Feb. 19.
