Van Gundy Compares Irving to Rose, Paul
Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy doesn’t watch a lot of random NBA games, so it wasn’t until Thursday, when he was preparing to play host to the Cavaliers on Friday night, that he got his first look at Kyrie Irving.
To say he was impressed would be an understatement.
“My God,” Van Gundy said. “My God.
“I see no reason he wouldn’t be at the same level as the Chris Pauls and the Derrick Roses and those guys. He’s got size. He’s quick. He takes the ball to the basket. He makes good decisions. He’s shooting over 40 percent from [3-point range]. He defends.”
