Vandy C Ezeli to miss 6-8 weeks with injury
Vanderbilt center Festus Ezeli suffered another setback when he sprained two ligaments in his right knee earlier this week in practice.
The school said Ezeli will not require surgery but is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
Earlier this month, the NCAA suspended Ezeli for the first six games of the season. The punishment was for accepting a meal and hotel room from a school alumnus.
The school learned of the violation in early August and self-reported it to the Southeastern Conference.
The Commodores will open the season against Oregon on Nov. 11. Ezeli will be eligible to return for a Nov. 28 game against Xavier.
The 6-11 senior averaged 13.0 points and 6.3 rebounds last season.
