Charlie Villanueva appeared stunned when told that Kings point guard Isaiah Thomas labeled him a “dirty player.”

Villanueva then started to explain his side in the hard foul against Thomas in Tuesday night’s Pistons victory that resulted in an ejection and fine. He also took a few jab at Thomas, a second-year player.

“Dirty player? Not at all,” Villanueva said. “He saw an open lane, I tried to block the ball and he’s 4-foot-11, a 100 pounds wet so he looks bad. I’m not a dirty player. I didn’t try to hurt him at all.”

Thomas is actually listed at 5-9 and 185 pounds.

Villanueva said he plans to appeal. Pistons coach Lawrence Frank scoffed at Thomas’ assertion.
