Wade Doesn’t Mind Spotlight on James
For the first time in his NBA life (Dwyane) Wade understands and accepts he is not the best player on his team. He has acted accordingly with such seamless grace that the evolution has gone with little notice or remark, but it has been profound in its way.
This is Wade, sacrificing, setting aside ego, demonstrating that team trumps self.
“My confidence ain’t going to change, but I realize and understand where he is at this point in his career,” Wade said of (LeBron) James. “At certain times in the league, Coach Riley has felt I was the best player. I don’t change the way I approach the game and what I think of myself at all by saying [James] is the best in the world right now.”
This Heat team will go as far as James takes it, if the analysts are right. But if the basketball is in LeBron’s hands now, remember it was Wade who handed it to him with such selfless grace.
