Miami Heat stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade took to the court on Saturday in an exhibition game.
Now, the next time they’ll do so for any game of meaning remains to be seen.
Wade made two free throws with 3.2 seconds left to lift his team to a 141-140 victory over James’ team in the South Florida All-Star Classic.
The game featured nine NBA All-Stars at Florida International University, whose U.S. Century Bank Arena seats 5,000 fans. All revenue went to a charity that supports education in South Florida.
In their first season together, James, Wade and Chris Bosh led the highly scrutinized Heat to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Dallas Mavericks.
As for matters off the court, the NBA will only continue talks with the union if players agreed to a 50-50 revenue split before returning to the table. Players were guaranteed 57 percent of basketball-related income under the previous CBA and have proposed lowering it to 53 percent.
