Making a stop at “The Late Show” in New York for a late-afternoon taping, (Dwyane) Wade touched on NBA matters ranging from the Jeremy Lin phenomenon to no longer having to play in New Jersey to arriving to the Ed Sullivan Theater in Letterman’s home-team colors.

The conversation then turned to the New Jersey Nets becoming the Brooklyn Nets this coming season.

“I’m so happy,” Wade whispered.

Then, as to not offend, he said in his normal voice, “I like playing in Newark, it was great.”

That was followed of a whisper of, “I’m so happy,” drawing laughter from both Wade and Letterman.
