Ware shoots jumpers, eyes October return

The NCAA tournament’s biggest star is targeting a big comeback.
Louisville reserve Kevin Ware, who helped capture the heart of the nation during the NCAAs after a gruesome leg injury in the Cardinals’ Elite Eight victory against Duke, is making steady progress as he eyes an October return to the hardwood.
Ware hit a noteworthy benchmark in his road to recovery recently by doing something he hasn’t done since he broke his leg in April. He’s shooting jump shots again.
Ware was seen putting up jumpers at the Yum! Center practice court on Monday, WDRB.com’s Eric Crawford reported.
“Kevin’s doing great,” Louisville coach Rick Pitino said recently. “It’s pretty amazing.”
This past weekend, Ware tweeted that he he’s off crutches, and his cast has been removed.
He targeted October as a comeback date goal via Twitter.
