Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been playing on the edge, so to speak, the last couple of nights. And Thursday, he took to Twitter to share his feelings.

Regarding a hard foul in the Warriors’ 119-98 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night, Green, an NBA rookie, tweeted, “If last night is what y’all people consider a dirty play nowadays we might as well change the name to powder puff basketball.”

He then added, “Last time I checked this wasn’t a pretty boy game.”

Green didn’t specify the play he was talking about, but we think it’s the one at the 1:35 mark of the highlight package below:

Green has had enough controversial incidents lately that he had to clarify that his tweets were about the Thunder game and not his run-in with the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night.

In that game, Green laid a hard foul on Houston’s Patrick Beverley, who was shooting a three-pointer late in a 140-109 blowout to try to break the record for most threes by one team in one game in NBA history.

Houston’s Marcus Morris took exception to the nature of Green’s foul, the two jawed, and both were ejected.

Beverley, for his part, absolved Green.

“That’s part of basketball,” Beverley told the Houston Chronicle. “It was a solid foul. I don’t think it was dirty. He said he was sorry.”
