Warriors F Williams to play in Spain
Golden State Warriors forward Reggie Williams has signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with Spanish club Caja Laboral Vitoria, Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday.
According to the report, the contract includes a buyout of $1 million if Williams wants to return to the NBA during the season.
Williams is a restricted free agent, which means once the lockout is lifted, the Warriors would have the opportunity to match any offer he receives from another NBA team. Having signed to play in Spain, he is unlikely to receive an offer.
In 104 games over two seasons with the Warriors, Williams has averaged 10.6 points and 3.1 rebounds while shooting better than 40 percent from 3-point range.
