Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry said he expects to play in Sunday’s season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Curry sprained his right ankle in Tuesday’s exhibition game against Sacramento. He underwent surgery on the same foot in May.

The third-year guard was plagued by recurring ankle sprains last season, although he missed only eight games.

Curry averaged 18.6 points, 5.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds last season for Golden State
