Warriors general manager Bob Myers met with the local media for about an hour Thursday, five days before the start of training camp. He spent the majority of his time dealing with and offered his most striking comments about the team’s centers.

(Andris) Biedrins: “Because it’s a result-driven business, Andris will be allowed to come in and compete for his position,” said Myers, who said Biedrins is the only one of 15 roster players who hasn’t reported to Oakland for voluntary pre-training camp workouts. “He’s a professional, and I’ll leave it to the coach to decide what (Biedrins’) role will be. I’m going to try and be neutral on him not coming, and I’m going to be positive on the guys who did come. But he’s shown that he can be an effective player in the NBA. I’m going to let it play out on Andris, and I’m hoping that he comes into camp and is ready to go. I’m not going to judge him until we’ve seen him in the preseason and see what he can do.”
