In recent weeks, Golden State has also been linked to Brook Lopez and JaVale McGee. While the Warriors haven’t had significant talks with the New Jersey Nets or Washington Wizards, they are interested in Lopez and McGee. They could shift their attention to one of these young centers if their other options fall through.
The Warriors are making a strong push to acquire a center and will certainly be active in the days leading up to the deadline.

Most "big announcements" involve some sort of chairty function or the like - as was the case with Bryant tonight - esp through Facebook Kobe certainly can't announce any player movement - that's not his role or position - but I got hit up by a ton of people thinking all that Kobe can annnounce injury stuff, future plans like retirement - but he can't announce anything the Lakers might do with amnesty in July I'm not sure what people were expecting Kobe to announce - he can't announce any team business other than his own individual perspective
