Wilcox Out Indefinitely, Set for More Tests
Celtics forward Chris Wilcox, who missed Friday night’s win against the Portland Trail Blazers after having what was described as a routine cardiac test, will have further tests done early this week, according to team president Danny Ainge.
Wilcox, who might not have the tests done until Wednesday, is out indefinitely as the Celtics begin an eight-game road trip today with an afternoon game against the Lakers. According to a Celtics spokesman, team physician Brian McKeon will meet with Wilcox this week in Boston.
“We’re waiting for more testing,” said Ainge, who added that he didn’t know why Wilcox had the initial tests, which reportedly were conducted by an independent physician. “We didn’t find out until after he went.
“All I can say is that I hope this is nothing serious.”
