Will Brook Lopez Return the Same Player?
The Nets have been talking in circles regarding Brook Lopez’s latest foot injury, but these are the undeniable and important facts:
The center, who signed a four-year max contract over the summer, has played in just 19 of the last 87 games. He is a big man with a brittle foot, a historically nasty combination.
It’s a fragile body part for centers. It’s also not encouraging that the Nets don’t seem to have a grasp on why Lopez is taking so long to return from a “mild foot sprain.”
Thursday marked his 11th day as “day-to-day.”
There is a chance Lopez will heal completely and go back to being the durable presence of his first three seasons.
