Will Cavs Keep Pain-Free Luke Walton?

Some observers think Luke Walton will be a roster casualty when the Cavaliers cut down their roster to 15 players.

It would be a bold move to swallow his $6.1 million contract, but stranger things have happened.

This is a young, developing team. Forwards who are 32 years old don’t appear to be in their plans.

But there’s a few things one has to remember about the 6-foot-8, 235-pound Walton. He knows how to play the game. He’s an efficient player. His passes always seem to find the open man on the court.

He said he’s in his best condition in almost four years. He said his chronic back problems might be behind him.

“I love basketball. I’m going to play until I can’t play anymore. I’m excited to be playing without pain.”
