Williams to Butler: ‘We’re going to win’
For the second day in a row free-agent small forward Caron Butler met with the Los Angeles Clippers as he spent Tuesday morning and afternoon at the team’s training facility, talking to coaches and front office officials.
Butler was not only getting a sales pitch from Clippers general manager Neil Olshey, but from some of the players who were at the facility to workout.
“My selling point was that we’re going to win,” said Clippers guard Mo Williams. “He’s coming from an organization in Dallas that won a championship. We’re all fully aware of the culture or the persona of the Clippers and I told him you can forget about that. That’s no more. We’re going to win. That’s the selling pitch I gave to him and his response was, ‘Yeah,’ and I said with this talent and with you we can go even further.”
