Wizards Are Working the Phones

The Washington Wizards have been very active in recent days. The Wizards would love to make a blockbuster trade, but they don’t want to part ways with their three most attractive trade chips – John Wall, Bradley Beal or Nene. The Wizards have expressed interest in Josh Smith and offered the Atlanta Hawks any combination of players outside of Wall, Beal and Nene (in the hope that they could add Smith to the core and he would sign a long-term deal). However, the Hawks weren’t interested.

While the Wizards are working the phones, it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to pull off a big move without parting ways with Wall, Beal or Nene. However, it is possible that the team completes a more realistic trade in which they part ways with Jordan Crawford and a draft pick.
