Just a little over a week removed from the Newtown, Conn., tragedy, the touching gestures continue to pile in from athletes who were emotionally affected by 26 deaths at Sandy Hook Elementary.

In the most recent tribute, the Xavier basketball team replaced its own school name with “Sandy Hook” on the front of its jerseys for the team’s game against Wofford on Saturday.

Providence College had a similar tribute earlier in the week, playing with green jerseys that had “Sandy Hook” written on the back of players’ jerseys to replace their last names.

Xavier head coach Chris Mack tweeted that the game uniforms would be up for auction on the team’s website with the proceeds from the sale being donated to the Sandy Hook Support fund.

“Love for you to help us support the town of Newtown, CT. I urge you to make a bid. Hug your kids. Help if you can!!!pic.twitter.com/2jqiHWsV”
