Yi Jianlian injures knee in China

Yi Jianlian is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks after suffering a sprained knee ligament while playing in China.

Yi hurt his MCL in Friday game’s while playing for Guangdong of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Unlike other NBA players who have signed to play in China, Yi has an opt-out clause and can return to the NBA.

Currently a free agent, Yi appeared in 56 games with the Washington Wizards last season, averaging 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds.

The No. 6 overall draft pick in 2007, he averaged a career-high 12.0 points and 7.2 rebounds for New Jersey in 2009-10.
